Pros: I like the idea of a immutable system (because noob). Installation was quick and easy - except for the wrong auto-selected keyboard layout. Looks and feels nice at fist glance - especially the gnome version. Cons: Basic things do not work, for example simple opening of media files from my mounted home server. On bazzite gnome the images/photos work but videos do not play. On bazzite KDE it is the opposite: the videos play but the image viewer does not show anything. Tested some solutions from web but nothing helps. Looks like in each build on of the bundled media apps is wrong configured. Bazzite uses the newest beta Nvidia driver which is not stable. Opening apps feels slightly delayed. Also a complaint from my wife: grub bootloader is ugly and not user friendly. Conclusion: feels unfinished and not enough to lure a windows user away. Yes No Version: 44.20260605 Rating: 10 Date: 2026-06-18 Country: United States Votes: 5 to the gaming world, Bazzite is a breath of fresh air I have been a distro hopper for awhile now and finally came to the conclusion that if I ever plan a gaming computer build I will need to settle down. My first build (Ryzen 9 9950X3d with Radeon RX 9070 XT). Bazzite works right out of the box with my AMD build, and everything is integrated seamlessly. That was always my dream, and part of why I distro hopped. I was always trying to find a seamless integration or at least, an intuitive approach to integration that doesn't end in hardware compatibility issues or relying on older software / firmware, etc. just to get the system to work. Linux gaming with Bazzite is a breath of fresh air. I can focus on games right away instead of having to set stuff up and spend hours configuring and optimizing. It sometimes doesn't even feel like a linux system, but after learning ujust commands and playing with distrobox, I can feel the linux freedom. Having the base system read-only is nice as well, since it acts as a fail-safe for anything that could halt the system. If you are a gamer, try it out! pascal Was this review helpful? Yes No Version: 44.20260605 Rating: 10 Date: 2026-06-15 Country: Türkiye Votes: 3 I’ve tried quite a few Linux distros over the years (Arch, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE), but Bazzite is the first one that actually made me stop distro-hopping. Immutable design + rollback + Flatpak/Distrobox separation just makes everything feel stable without killing the fun of tinkering. I can experiment freely without risking my main system, which is exactly what I always wanted but didn’t realize. Gaming has been super smooth too (Steam, Proton, controllers, GPU drivers just work), and I no longer feel like I’m constantly “maintaining” my OS.
