My journey: FreeBSD → Debian → Arch → Artix → NOID — with every desktop and window manager imaginable in between. I've chased performance, philosophy, and workflow, but nothing ever felt like home until now. I can't thank the dev enough. This distro is fast, pure, and genuinely amazing. It's my first time using both Void and GNOME, and the combo is absolutely killer. The runit init system, xbps speed, and GNOME's polish come together perfectly. I've installed NOID on 2 machines now: Studio machine – Running Reaper with x86 plugins. My Tascam US-16X08 worked out of the box. On Arch, that was a long, painful process that eventually made me switch. Pairing this with my M1 MacBook Air for mobile work has been seamless. Gaming PC – Moved from CachyOS to NOID and haven't looked back. Steam, Proton, drivers—everything just works without the usual tinkering rabbit hole. NOID is the perfect entry point into Void Linux. It gives you a polished, ready-to-go experience while still letting you dive deep when you want. No bloat, no forced decisions—just a rock-solid foundation. After setting everything up, I finally feel at peace. No more weekend re-installs, no more distro FOMO. Just a system that stays out of my way and makes me smile every time I log in. Yes No Version: 20260109 Rating: 8 Date: 2026-01-13 Votes: 18 Hello, Noid is good distro and easy to install the os with the calamares, I tried a lot of distros based on void linux and i didn't get the job done but with noid there is no more easy to install the void linux,Thank's to Nassim CHETTAH, hope he worck's on more useful tools to make the os great, XPBS is powerful but we need a GUI package manager like octoxBPS and will support flatpack, snap, appimage all in one package manager, f there is a way to fetch package from other distros like bedrock it will be nice.
